Common questions
The app needs camera permission to scan codes. If you denied it, allow the camera for QR & Barcode Scanner in your Android settings. Camera images are processed on your device and never recorded or sent anywhere.
Product information comes from the Open Food Facts database. When you scan a product barcode, the app looks up the barcode number there. Open Food Facts doesn't have every product, so some barcodes return no details.
On your device, in a local database. Codes you scan or create stay there and are deleted if you uninstall the app or clear its data. I have no access to them.
Opt out in your device settings: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
Only on older Android versions, to save QR code images you create to your gallery.
